A standard cable tie will withstand temperatures of up to 85°C. If you need cable ties to perform at higher temperatures Panduit offer several solutions. Panduit cable ties manufactured from heat stabilised Nylon 6/6 will withstand temperatures of up to 115°C and would be the most cost effective option for this high temperature performance. These heat stabilised cable ties are for indoor use. There is a weather resistant version but the maximum temperature is reduced to 100°C.
For higher temperatures in non-conductive material, Panduit offer cable ties manufactured in Halar, Tefzel and PEEK. These materials are mainly used for their excellent resistance to chemicals and radiation but their temperature ranges are also impressive.
The main attributes of Halar cable ties is their low smoke density, a flammability rating of UL94V-0 and an exceptional weathering life expectancy of at least 15 years. However for this section the most important aspect is that their maximum, continuous use, temperature rating is 150°C.
Among many impressive qualities of the Tefzel cable tie range, such as resistance to chemical attack and radiation, is its temperature range of -60°C to +170°C. Panduit also offer cable tie bases in this material.
The highest working temperature offered by Panduit in a non-conductive (not stainless steel) cable tie is their PEEK cable tie range. PEEK (polyetheretherketone) can withstand temperatures of up to 260°C as well as exposure to chemicals and radiation and offers a low UL94V-0 flammability rating. There are also cable tie bases available in the same PEEK material.
Stainless steel cable ties offer the highest working temperature of any of the Panduit cable tie range. Available in 304 and 316 grade stainless steel their working temperature range is from -80°C to +538°C. Used in the harshest of environments stainless steel cable ties are extremely rugged with an outdoor lifespan of at least 30 years.
